Size Matters

Getting the right size is important, especially since these bands are wider than average. They’re thick, solid, and bold, with most designs ranging from 9mm to 12mm, so consider sizing up by half a size. (Tapered signets are an exception, as their narrow underside usually fits true to size.)

The best way to be sure is to visit a jeweler and ask for a wide band ring sizer in either flat or comfort fit. You can also order a plastic ring sizer online for a few dollars. DIY methods like paper or string are less accurate.

One tip: avoid measuring when your hands are too hot or cold, since temperature affects sizing.
